Poem of Perseverance

Beneath the weight, I bend but don’t break,

Each step forward is a choice I make.

Through Midwest storms that howl and rage,

And sunny California skies that bleed in chains of a gilded cage.

No longer allowing the sandpaper to my soul,

I shield negativity, and only my light keeps me whole.

Trusting my inner Rosie, with grit and grace,

I find my strength in every space.

Despite the deflection, the manipulation, the scorn,

In a world where hearts are often worn,

The path is long, and the night is deep,

Yet still, I climb, though shadows creep.

Self-love and compassion, the keys in hand,

Unlock the peace where I choose to stand.

For in my heart, a flame will burn,

A quiet strength at every turn.

When doubt arrives, I stand my ground,

In trials’ echoes, resolve is found.

For every fall, I rise once more,

A soul unyielding, steadfast to the core.
