I have learned a lot about people, from what they lack. 

If they lack accountability, they’ll shift the blame.

If they lack communication skills, they say you’re arguing.

If they lack emotional intelligence, they call you sensitive or make it about you.

If they lack effort, they’re not interested.

This hit different. 

What is happening here is simple. 

A person is not grown until they know how to communicate, apologize, and accept accountability without blaming someone else.

I didn’t become selfish.  I just became harder to manipulate.

Never will I confuse the two.

I finally figured out and accepted that the only closure I needed was understanding that I deserved better. 

Simple.
